About KBF

Who We Are…

The Kentucky Bass Federation, Inc was formed in 1972 for the benefit of the Grass Roots Fishermen of Kentucky. We are the largest organized sportfishing group in the State. The goals of our federation are listed below.

  • to organize the bass anglers of Kentucky.
  • to improve our skill as bass anglers.
  • to stimulate public awareness of bass fishing as a major participation sport.
  • to offer our organized moral and political support and encouragement to the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife and water patrol.
  • to promote full adherence to all conservation codes.
  • to demand adequate water standards and legal enforcement of existing regulatory standards.
  • to detect and report any polluter and call public and political attention to the crime.
  • to encourage private and governmental study into all the reasons why fishing on our lakes and streams may be deteriorating and what can be done for these waters to restore and maintain top bass fishing for ourselves and for our children.
  • to promote and encourage youth fishing. Kids don’t go fishing – they are taken fishing. Instill at an early age an interest and love for our sport.
  • to present to our members the opportunity to compete in state, regional, and national fishing tournaments. The publicity derived from these tournaments proves their value by stimulating public interest in bass fishing.
